Hmong Americans in Michigan

Michigan has the fourth largest population of Hmong Americans in the United States. Join author and oral historian Martha Aladjem Bloomfield to learn about the history of the Hmong people, their flight to America following the Vietnam War and how they have made their new homes in Michigan.

 

This program is part of the 2018 Capital Area Reads. Join the Delta Township District Library and the Capital Area District Libraries for events and discussions related to the 2018 selection Behold the Dreamers by Imbolo Mbue throughout March and April and then come hear the author speak at the Lansing Center on Saturday, April 28 at 4 p.m. For more information about Capital Area Reads and related events visit dtdl.org/capreads.
